Webinar 7 March | Teaching and learning using digital technology in experimental / laboratory courses (1/3)

Teaching and learning in courses where students perform experiments requires designing active learning activities and engaging students in the learning process. Digital educational technology can be used in learning activities to support students’ learning and communication. The first webinar in the series of three webinars takes place on 7 March 2024.

In this webinar Optimizing Practical Courses: Design Challenges, Educational Theories, and E-Learning Strategies for Enhanced Student Skills, Richard de Boer (University of Amsterdam) and Charita Furumaya (LabBudy) will discuss how to enhance student learning experiences in university laboratory courses using digital technology. Practical courses can serve as optimal components within the curriculum for essential research and problem-solving skills. The challenge is to structure them effectively and efficiently. Students must come to the laboratory adequately prepared to achieve all the anticipated learning objectives in lab sessions.

This is the first webinar in a series of three webinars about teaching and learning in university laboratory courses and different approaches how digital technology can be used in a pedagogically relevant way to improve students’ learning. The webinars are organized in co-operation of the European Chemistry Thematic Network (ECTN) Working Group Eurolecturer Academy and the DISTINCT project.
