eXtended Reality, gaming & development at RCF 30-31/3: some free tickets left!

This Thursday and Friday, March 30-31, the Saxion XR Lab is hosting the 2nd edition of their Reality Check Festival. A two-day event for students, professionals, and enthusiasts to get together around XR, game technology, and storytelling.

SURF is contributing to the event program as part of its XR Developer Network activities, and is sponsoring a number of free tickets, of which some are left! Please read on for more information.

On the 1st day of the festival, 30 March, there are two sessions in the program, related to the XR Developer Network:

  • 10:00 - 11:00 - From 5G SIM cards to QoE – full stack developments in Social XR, a  presentation by Piotr Zuraniewski from TNO on their Social XR platform, with links to AI and 5G. This presentation is part of the regular Reality Check Festival program and is open to everyone.
  • 15:30 - 16:30 - A meeting of the Developer Network members to discuss and plan how to approach increased collaboration, code-sharing and co-development. This session is at the end of the afternoon and afterwards we can join the Festival drinks with the rest of the participants.

Apart from this there is also a panel discussion on responsible XREthical considerations of XR development, on March 30 (also 10:00 - 11:00), hosted by John Walker from SURF.

There are a lot of other interesting sessions in the program, so if you're working with VR/MR/AR/3D, or would like to, then the Reality Check Festival is a great place to be inspired and connect.

If you are working at a SURF member institute (i.e. WO, HBO, MBO, UMC, ...) then we can provide you with a free ticket for the festival by contacting xr@surf.nl. Tickets are limited in number and handed out first-come-first-serve.
