BROCCOLI sprouts: Full proposal submitted for Open Science NL Infrastructure call

Open Research Information

While it’s common knowledge that warming up to BROCCOLI takes time, this past Easter marked a significant milestone for a group of open research information experts and enthusiasts who have grown fond of the vegetable. Representatives from SURF, Leiden University, TU Delft, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Wageningen University & Research have submitted the full proposal for the Open Science NL Infrastructure call.

BROCCOLI—the Dutch hub for healthy open research information—aims to bring accessible, reliable, and reusable data on Dutch research actors, activities, and outputs into a unified, open infrastructure. This initiative will support evidence-informed decision-making across the Dutch research system.

By fostering collaboration among research information experts, users, and providers, BROCCOLI will collectively harvest, transform, and curate essential data for:

 

  • Monitoring publisher deals
  • Open science monitoring
  • Responsible research evaluation

With openness embedded into its architecture, governance, standards, inputs, and outputs, BROCCOLI translates open science principles into action, offering a transparent and collaborative approach to research information management in the Netherlands.

Leuk om dit voorstel te lezen! Ik vind het alleen lastig om te begrijpen wat het verschil is tussen Broccoli, OpenAlex en OpenAire. Zou je dat nog kunnen toelichten?

Hoi Mira, goede vraag. OpenAlex en OpenAIRE halen informatie uit heel veel verschillende bronnen en brengen dat bij elkaar. BROCCOLI is een platform waar de research intelligence community in Nederland kan samenwerken. Zij gebruiken o.a. OpenAlex en OpenAIRE data en verrijken die voor stuurinformatie. Via BROCCOLI wisselen ze hun scripts en deelproducten uit. Heb jij nog use cases voor BROCCOLI?
