After successfully organizing multiple events, SURF at Utrecht again hosted the fifth edition of the FIRE series. As the focus of this edition was on high-throughput data movement and data abstraction, we were pleased to have Peter Hofstee from IBM. He presented the approaches and lessons learned in raising abstraction level of hardware design. The second keynote speach was by Christiaan Baaij who presented high-level hardware design using Clash. In addition to presentations from research universities such as TU Delft, Tu Darmstadt and University Groningen, we also had talks from industries such as NVIDIA, Voltron Data and QbayLogic.
