Hoe verbeteren we de kwaliteit van onderwijs? Hoe sluit het onderwijs beter aan op de vraag vanuit de markt? En hoe presenteer je het onderwijs als interessante onderzoekspartner voor het bedrijfsleven? Allemaal vragen die leven binnen het mbo en waarbij practoraten een belangrijke rol spelen.
Op 16 april organiseerden we vanuit het project onderzoeksinformatie in het hbo een webinar om de plannen voor het komende jaar te presenteren en de community op de hoogte te brengen van de activiteiten en deliverables.
Op 15 april organiseerde we vanuit SURF een ORCID bijeenkomst (online) om de hbo community te informeren over deze identifier (PID) voor onderzoekers, het belang van ORCID iDs in een RIS en het Nederlandse Consortium.
Onderzoeksinformatie in het hbo
Op 28 november zijn veel data stewards, IT’ers, informatiespecialisten, en andere experts op het gebied van informatie over praktijkgericht onderzoek bij SURF samengekomen om de meest recente ontwikkelingen te bespreken en te bepalen waar we volgend jaar op moeten inzetten. Er is veel kennis uitgewisseld, er zijn nieuwe samenwerkingen ontstaan en er zijn oplossingen voor de (C)RIS-is aangedragen!
As part of the Delft University of Technology's (TU Delft) bachelor programmes, mechanics courses are provided across 7 out of its 8 faculties by more than 70 mechanics lecturers. Yet, mechanics is considered a difficult subject to teach, with lecturers reporting that they have limited time and resources to assess and improve their teaching practice. Moreover, these lecturers are seldom connected. The lack of collaboration and exchange between the mechanics lecturers has resulted in limited peer-to-peer support and hindered the development of shared mechanics teaching competence. To tackle these challenges, the PRogramme for Innovation in MECHanics education (PRIMECH) was launched at TU Delft in 2021. In this paper, PRIMECH's solution is discussed: the introduction of the Mechanics Teachers Social Club, an inter-faculty Community of Practice (CoP), built around the shared domain of interest of teaching mechanics and improving students' conceptual understanding. The CoP aims to enhance lecturers' awareness of best teaching practices and foster collaboration on new educational projects. Within this CoP, lecturers are encouraged to share teaching materials, discuss pedagogical approaches, and share advice towards achieving this goal.

Op welke manier helpt digitalisering bij het innoveren binnen het mbo? En hoe zal het onderwijs in de toekomst veranderen door alle (nieuwe) mogelijkheden? Wij vroegen het aan Lydia Kes, practor bij het MBO College Airport, ROC van Amsterdam-Flevoland. Ze houdt zich bezig met kennisontwikkeling omtrent Competency Based Training & Assessment in de luchtvaart. "Bij conjunctuurgevoelige banen moet je flexibel kunnen zijn in de opleiding van studenten."

In a rapidly evolving world, artificial intelligence emerges as a transformative force in various research domains. While its potential is undeniable, the challenges it presents can't be overlooked. In a short survey we aimed to gauge the current state of the responsible application of AI in research. Preliminary findings indicate that promising steps are being made, but that significant gaps remain in institutional guidance and support, as well as in the practical implementation of responsible AI practices.
The third Netherlands National Open Science Festival took place this year. It welcomes participants ranging from researchers to policymakers to peers working on enabling open science practices.
