De projectleiders uit de eerste ronde van de stimuleringsregeling Open en online onderwijs hebben hun projecten afgerond. Zij delen hun geleerde lessen in de vorm van 9 aanbevelingen. Wat moet iedereen weten die met open en online onderwijs aan de slag gaat?
Tijdens de Challenge day 2017 op donderdag 28 september in CineMec Utrecht laat SURFnet zien hoe een modulaire leeromgeving in de praktijk werkt. Dat doen we aan de hand van een use-case, waarin 8 leveranciers in pilotvorm hun producten gekoppeld hebben aan de SURF-demo-omgeving van de modulaire leeromgeving.
In juni lanceerde SURFnet een wedstrijd rondom location-based services (LBS). Hoe kunnen we location-based services inzetten om het onderwijs en onderzoek te verbeteren? Studenten, start-ups en andere geïnteresseerden konden t/m 6 augustus voorstellen indienen. We hebben de 46 ingezonden voorstellen beoordeeld, en op basis hiervan de top 5 bepaald.
It seems so easy: a single institution account that you can use to log in to a range of services. However, if a service requires more information than the institution account offers, you still need to supply additional information or establish a connection with another database. This is why a change will soon be made in the form of attribute aggregation in SURFconext!
De SIG Unwired organiseert op 12 oktober een seminar over het verbinden van onderwijs buiten en binnen de campus, met bulp van (mobiele) technologie of wearables. Er worden diverse praktijkvoorbeelden getoond waarbij zowel ontwikkelaars, onderzoekers en docenten aan het woord zullen zijn. Daarna gaan we in discussie over wat seamless learning en mobiele technologie voor het onderwijs kan betekenen.

Het lijkt zo makkelijk: één instellingsaccount om te loggen bij verschillende diensten. Maar als een dienst meer informatie nodig heeft dan het instellingsaccount biedt, moet je alsnog extra informatie aanleveren of koppelingen met andere databases maken. Daar komt binnenkort verandering in met attribuutaggregatie in SURFconext!
Institutions want to make their applications more secure by using multi-factor authentication. SURFnet has developed a plug-in for Microsoft ADFS that allows you to use SURFconext Strong Authentication as a second authentication factor for applications connected to ADFS. We have now started a pilot that you can join.
As many in the tech community will know, the DNS is a core part of the Internet’s infrastructure. It provides the vital function of mapping human-readable names (such as www.surf.nl) to machine readable information (such as 2001:610:188:410:145:100:190:243).
