Open Pedagogy is an important tool for strengthening meaningful learning, this is the case postulated by Marijn Post, Michiel de Jong, Marjon Baas, and Ria Jacobi, members of SIG Open Education. They argue that meaningful learning is crucial because it ensures that there is meaning and impact throughout the entire knowledge development process. This in turn is needed to solve the contemporary problems we face in society. To strengthen meaningful learning in higher education, the authors have developed the Open Pedagogy Framework 2.0.
The pace at which new applications of AI appear is matched only by the stories about their potential danger, the bias they include and the dystopic scenarios they may trigger. These concerns have started discussions in governments, academia, and the private sector about how to best use AI and mitigate the associated risks. Een chatbot die zelf teksten kan schrijven, dat betekent nogal wat voor ons onderwijs. Terwijl steeds meer studenten ChatGPT inzetten als handige tool, wordt er door AI-kenners en onderwijsprofessionals verhit gediscussieerd over het gebruik ervan. Tijd om eens te kijken naar de mogelijkheden die ChatGPT biedt om het werk van docenten makkelijker te maken.

That is the question on the minds of many universities, colleges and high schools. While many are concerned about the developments of ChatGPT, according to Erdinç Saçan, lecturer and researcher at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Fontys should be open to using the new AI tool. “Every teacher who takes himself seriously should test this.”
